Spec-West’s Premier Penetrating Sealer (PPS) is specifically engineered for pool decks. PPS is a penetrating sealer, it does not form a film and will not change the surface tension, allowing the natural coefficient of friction to remain. This long lasting invisible armor helps to extend the life of the concrete. It is a versatile sealer designed for use on any concrete or masonry surface to protect from the damaging effects of water, swimming pool chemicals and stains. Spec- West’s cutting-edge, zero VOC technology decreases the negative effects UV rays have on colored concrete. PPS provides superior protection against moisture penetration and will significantly reduce the formation of efflorescence. PPS can also be used on other surfaces such as: marble, granite, limestone, travertine, polished stones, brick, pavers, slate, precast concrete, non-glazed tile and cultured or natural stone.

Quick Overview

PPS absorbs deep into the concrete pores, chemically bonding with the silicates in the concrete, creating a long lasting virtually invisible protective barrier. This durable barrier cannot wear away, fade, yellow, crack or peel and repels water, oil, grease, rust/tannin stains and much more. PPS will significantly reduce common concrete problems like pitting, spalling, dusting and efflorescence.

Do not use as a pre-grout sealer or on glazed tile. PPS will not allow a film forming sealer to be applied at a later time. It will minimize, but not completely prevent the substrate color from fading. Once applied it is not removable. Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before applying. All surfaces to be treated must be clean and free from previous coatings, dirt, efflorescence, laitance, mildew, moss and any other contaminants that may interfere with the penetration and reaction of PPS to the applied surface. Remove all dirt, oil, wax, paint or sealers with an appropriate cleaner, chemical stripper or by abrasive blasting. At a minimum, proper pressure washing is required to help open the concrete pores and to remove obstructing particles. If muriatic acid has been used, the surface must be flushed with clean water and neutralized with a pH neutralizer. After cleaning, allow the surface to dry for 24 hours prior to PPS application. Protect landscaping from overspray. COVERAGE: 200-1,000 SqFt/gallon, depending on surface porosity. THINNING: Not required. Use as is.
